Hey my beautiful people! How are you all doing? Hope life is treating you well?. I am extra extra extra happy today because my Instagram reached 5K💃. What's the big deal you may ask. Well, I like to celebrate my wins however little. And tbh, it's not easy for 5000 people to trust you with their data, follow you and continue to interact with your content. Thank you all. You are indeed the best😘. Instagram tried it with their sickass algorithm but God pass them.
In the spirit of this mood, I have decided to share with you all tips on how to start blogging! I feel like a year and half blogging experience that I have is sufficient enough to talk about this and trust me, everything I'll be sharing is what I have done/experienced myself not some note curled from the internet. I hope my DMs will finally rest
Do Some Research
You can't start talking about what you don't know about hence the need for indepth research. Study the blogsphere, see how it all works see what people are talking about, see what people are not talking about enough (or at all), start to form you interest then study some more about your interest. Which brings me to my next point.
Carve a Niche
A Niche is a comfortable or suitable position in life or employment (according to google). So in relation to blogging, it means finding an interest you are comfortable or suitable to talk about. I for example can never come on here with a post saying "10 Tips on How to be an Astronaut". It can never happen! I have no interest/experience in that field! I made the mistake of not having a niche in my early blogging days (my OGs will know this). I was putting up posts about general entertainment news, kinda like Linda Ikeji style, basically putting up everything I could find on the internet until I had a sit down with myself and decided to move to content I am interested in. Only then did I take branding seriously which leads me to my next point

Branding
This starts with as little as picking your website name to choosing a platform, to choosing your color pallets, basically everything that gives your brand an image. Yes, I said brand, because at this point you are a brand and it behoves on you to give it a nice face. When it comes to choosing a name, find something that's easy to remember and everlasting (something you will not regret later) that why Step 1 is very important. For hosting, you can start with a free Blogger or Wordpress (with a URL that ends with .blogger/,wordpress/.wix, etc) then eventually move to a permanent hosting site (at that point you become a .com/.ng or any other one of your choice). And ofcourse you cant move to a new apartment with no furniture which leads to my next point.
Start Your Content
Some of you have done all the previous steps but your major challenge is starting. But why though? I wish I had steps on how to start starting but I don't. The only answer is to start! Atleast start with a post introducing yourself and what your blog is about and the it can continue from there. If after all these you still feel uninspired to write, then maybe, just maybe you are in the wrong niche. But if you are happy with yourself at this point and can't wait to start dishing out interesting content, then congratulations to you and this brings me to my last and final point.
Enjoy The Process
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, enjoy the process. Those views might not start to rake at the initial stage, those comments might not be dropping those brands might not be sliding into your emails yet but ignore it and enjoy what you do. They will all come at the right time. And yes, don't make money the reason why you went into blogging else you'll be frustrated!
That's it guys. I really hope you learnt a thing or two or five😊 from this post. I intend to write more blogging related posts going forward so just let know what area(s) you want me to touch on exactly in the comment section and I'll get right on it.
Also leave your honest thoughts about this post in the comment section, let's continue the conversation there. And if you are a blogger yourself, your contribution will be highly appreciated.
Thanks guys, till next time😘

Hello lade,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I just started following you on Instagram and you have taught me a lot especially editing my Instagram pictures but I just wanted to ask a question, someone like me who like to express my ideas on things like fashion, make-up,food and travel ideas. How do I go about it because I don't have a particular niche or should I pick one of them?
Thank you
Hi Justice,
Deleteawwww, thank you so much. Glad to know I have taught you something. I think you have found your niche. All of what you mentioned above are intertwined so your niche is Lifestyle!
Your comment means a lot, kindly leave them and be sure I'll attend to everyone of them
